Welcome to my world. Yiddera is a planet of incredible beauty and magic. It was created by Y'ddra, a sentient being living deep within the planet. She is what makes Yiddera livable and magical.
Y'ddra created the Alluran race, starting with the completely telepathic Tarikan. She then made the LuZivot, who are also telepathic but have the ability to communicate out loud. The last race is the SeiOrhii. Y'ddra needs fear to live and maintain the world, so she requires sacrifices to be made every so often. She created the Chosin to fulfill this role. They are born of the SeiOrhii.
Y'ddra sings out into space to attract other species to Yiddera so the SeiOrhii can feed. They, too, feed on fear, but they feed on the fear of species other than their own. They can live off the animals that roam Yiddera, but it does not have all the nutrients they need to survive. At one time, they fed on the LuZivot, which caused so many problems that it was put into law that this was not allowed. However, not everyone follows the law.
Yiddera is covered in many types of flora and fauna that are not found on Earth. When the humans arrive on Yiddera, they name many of the species they find after similar ones on Earth. It has 404 days that make up its year. It has two moons in the night sky most of the time, but twice a year, the third moon, Allura, appears in the sky.
There are five continents on Yiddera. Elynas. Lioleta, Kofira, Geltahn, and Zeljani. The continents all have a large area of land enshrouded in a shimmery blue Myst in which the Allurans live. The areas outside of the Myst gates are the hunting grounds. This is where the Yidderians eventually land and reside.
Each land mass holds two magical pools of crystalline water. These pools belong to the gifts of the ruling SeiOrhii and to their Korsyon. Korsyon means heart bond. When two SeiOrhii accept the bond, the crystals in the water will change to the couple's colors, and the two will be bonded for life. Only death can part them.
Zeljani has the largest area of Myst. It is traditionally the home of the SeiOrhii with the gift of healing; therefore, the pool of magic waters is green. It has several rivers, is often foggy and rainy, and has small mountain ranges. It is vibrant green year-round.
The Yidderians call Zeljani Lijiang.
Lioleta is ruled by the SeiOrhii, who are gifted with elemental control. Its pool has varying shades of purple. It is the smallest continent but encompasses several islands off its shores. This continent is tropical but also has a vast expanse of desert.
The Yidderians call Lioleta Kruger.
Geltahn is the land of the animal shifters. It is ruled by the colors yellow and orange. It is marshy in some areas, and it is mostly jungle. The air is hot and humid most of the year. Geltahn has the longest river on Yiddera. It runs the length of the whole continent. Part of the river disappears into the Myst.
The Yidderians call Geltahn Malseka.
Kofira is the land of those who have the gift of illusions and dream control. It holds the red pools. Kofira is the largest continent and has all four seasons. There are mountain ranges, beaches, and meadows. The Myst encompasses the middle of Kofira and is in a wooded area. Most of the middle of this continent is forest and woods. The Myst area does not have access to the ocean.
The Yidderians call Kofira Kahlali.
Elynas is the coldest continent and is covered in high mountain ranges. It is cold and snowy most of the year. It does have several areas of evergreen forests. The Myst covers the northernmost point of Elynas though you can walk around the Myst as a small path encircles it. It does not have access to the ocean. It is ruled by those who are telekinetic and can teleport. The pool's crystals are the color blue.
Just outside of the Myst is the rainbow falls. This is a horseshoe-shaped mountain range where water flows in front of a vast cave. Behind the waterfall are the sacred pools. The sacred pools consist of a pool for each gift and are red, yellow/orange, green, purple, and blue. The blue waters run down the back of the cave and disappear into the rocks.
Water from each pool flows down the side of the mountain into a vast lake where the bottom is covered in crystals of all the different pool colors.
Those with the ability to teleport have the job of escorting the Chosin through the blue rock floor and into the heart of Y'ddra when it is their time for sacrifice.
The Yidderians call Elynas Alenar after the first Yidderian Prophetess Alena.
Stay tuned for more on Yiddera and its inhabitants. I will post little shorts here that go along with my books.
Look for my upcoming book, "A Demon's Fascination."
